Many memories remain permanently in the unconscious. This is usually the case with early childhood experiences. Infantile amnesia does not erase our memories; these active memories leave lasting, indelible traces. Emotionally charged, they appear in our symptoms, in our omissions and in the deep motivations behind our actions. They also appear in our dreams.

So every night we unconsciously evoke our past without remembering it.
