"I have always liked working with materials that have a history. I like collecting old fabrics, ribbons, threads, ...

While working on my latest pieces, I was looking for an added value to my creative process, something was missing, my approach seemed insufficient.

So, I contacted LIBECO looking for a Belgian textile company interested in developing a "spinning mill / designer" collaboration, with a zero-waste objective.
In an idea of a circular economy, I offered them to recover their offcuts from the weaving warp, ... to valorise "this waste" of production through the creation of textile works".

“Today, we can all have an impact at our level on the preservation of nature reserves and the limitation of pollution.
If I can contribute to reducing the amount of waste that results from my textile consumption, it seems essential to me."

"But it was important for me not to lose my creative identity.
My motivation was therefore to modify my way of conceiving my works. Not for the purpose of restricting my creation, but in that of enrolling me at my level in reducing the impact of my pieces.”

Words collected during the presentation of the project at La Caravane Studio during Design September (September 2022).

Linen specialist since 1958, LIBECO BELGIUM is an essential address for high quality Belgian linen.
